What should I get and what are the requirements?
Right, well I want to get guildwars and I was thinknig about buying the Trilogy but if I just buy that will I need anything else to be able to play the game?
Also, www.Canirunit.com isn't working, is there any other site I can use to find out if I can run GW? |

Eye of the North is the only "game" you cannot run stand-alone (as it's an expansion, and not an actual campaign). If you buy the trilogy, it's all you'll need to play.
The system requirements are: Minimum System Specification * Windows XP/2000/ME/98/Vista * Intel Pentium III 1 GHz or equivalent * 512 MB RAM * DVD-ROM Drive * 3 GB Available HDD Space * ATI Radeon 8500 or NVIDIA GeForce 3 Series Video Card with 64 MB of VRAM * 16-bit Sound Card * Internet connection * Keyboard and mouse * DirectX 8 Recommended System Specification * Windows XP/2000/Vista * Intel Pentium 4 2.0 GHz or equivalent * 1 GB RAM * DVD-ROM Drive * 4 GB Available HDD Space * ATI Radeon 9600 or NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 series video card or above * 16-bit Sound Card * Internet connection * Keyboard and mouse * DirectX 9 |

The requirements for the game aren't all that bad - I run it fine with a 1.7GHz AMD Sempron, 2 GB of RAM (and earlier with only 1 GB), and a 256MB GeForce 6200TC, though I have to keep some of the graphical settings (specifically, Terrain Quality, Shadows and Shaders) on medium and, in some places, the post-processing FX off, so it's not as pretty as it could be. Still looks very nice, though.
Really, if you find you have no trouble running games from 2005 or so, you'll have no trouble with GW. |

Well RotteN already stated the requirements, but i think you should get all, starting off with proph if you haven't the funds. Because with just one campaign you'l get bored quickly, with all you've got alot to do.

This isnt enough for us to help you, if your in proph then you just do quests to recieve skills, if your in cantha or elona (factions or nightfall) then find an NPC in town with [Skills] after his name.

Follow the storyline in whatever campaign your in, npcs with quests have a green marker above their heads.
If you start finding the missions too tough for your ability or character level do some of the side quests to gain experience till your ready to take them on. |

Whichever you like best. Try both, if you don't like N/E, go E/N. If you don't like E/N, go something else
If you want to enjoy Guild Wars, I'd suggest losing the 'what is best' mindset that plagues other MMO's. Just play the profession that suits your style, and enjoy it. Use a build, armor, weapon you like. Note you can change your secondary later on, so don't be too obsessed about that. |

First off:
Welcome to the game If you ever have questions or need help feel free to PM me in game (IGN under my avatar) Like Arduinna said the mindset of "best profession" doesnt apply to Gw, they can all function perfectly well and all have their advantages and disadvantages. A theme I've seen recently with new players is trying to play your secondary as your primary. For example making a necro but loading him/her with Elementalist spells. Always remember what your primary is, feel free to use skills from your secondary but make sure they compliment your primary. Like its been said you can change your 2nd later on in the game (and will do often when you play) so don't worry too much about that. |

You can change you secondary (ie from N/E to N/Mo or N/Me) but you can't swap your secondary and your primary (ie, you are always a necro/something). That would require you to have to swap your armor (armor of different professions have different looks and sometimes different stats), which you can't do.

Also, different Primaries have access to different Attribute Trees and their associated skills. For the Necro, they get Soul Reaping for passive-aggressive Energy gain. (Just my little joke!) For the Ele, they get Energy Storage, for higher max Energy. You could argue that a N/E is more sustainable DPS/AOE caster, while a E/N is more of a "spike damage" caster, or you could do something new and different. You've got multiple character slots, use them. Want to experiment more with other Profession combinations? Buy more Character slots and storage.
Depending on your style, you might prefer one Profession Combination over the other. I joke that if Jeremy Soule were in the habit of stealing music, he'd do a remix of "My Way" for Guild Wars. Do what you want to do, your way, and adapt your skills, equipment, Heroes, User Interface, etc to match. If you want to be a caster that swings a giant hammer, YOU CAN. Also if there are any quests or missions in factions you need help with whisper me in game with the request. I'm usually on my necromancer(The True Dark Link). Also I am on at different tomes of the day so it'd be best to add me to your friends list.(press "N" and type the name in the top list to add me)
